Free sports equipment plus a chance to win sports sessions
and Top Trumps for schools!
Schools can exchange unwanted textiles for new sports equipment, share recycling heroes Busta and Pong's adventures, explore practical ways in which they might save energy and work towards an Eco-Schools award!
Involvement can also be used as the basis for an application to join the Get Set network to access exclusive London 2012 rewards and opportunities.
The first 500 schools registered with the Pod that join Sport into Schools will receive ten packs of Wastebuster Top Trumps. Schools will also have the opportunity to win one of the twenty taster sports sessions in Archery, Tai Kwando or Street Dance that are being given away in a prize draw.
The school with the highest amount of textiles diverted from landfill per pupil by October 31st 2012, will win a visit from athletes from Team GB and Wastebuster's very own Busta and Pong!
How does it work?
All schools need to do is hold a collection day for unwanted clothes and shoes. The collected textiles will be weighed and the school will be awarded sports points to exchange for sports equipment in the London 2012 Inspire Project's Exchange Store which has a range of over 5,000 items.
Schools can find more details on the project, some great case studies and a link to register for Sport into Schools here.
Schools will then be sent their free campaign packs and login details to access a wide range of online resources - everything needed to make the day a success.
